Why you shouldn’t launch on Product Hunt!

If people ever talk or behave about something as if it is the criteria for your dreams or success, just run away from the crowd.

This is basically how I started to feel about Product Hunt

Everybody behaves like Product Hunt is the real indicator if you have a product-market-fit or even worse if your product or company will be successful or not.

If you get lots of upvotes, feedback and interest it is great. However, it does not show that your idea or product will be successful either.

Likewise, having a poor product launch on Product Hunt also does not necessarily mean that people don’t need your product or it won’t be profitable in the future.

Why?

Target Customers vs Product Hunt users

Think about who visits Product Hunt. People who want to check what is going on, people to see if there are smiler products, people to see the trend for products, people who want to check which product in the top list, etc. Basically, all kinds of people. Most probably these people are not your target customers. You will understand why. Just keep reading.

What is the behavior of these people?

Product Hunt visitors check multiple products. Just to see what is going on. They just check your product, registers (maybe), and then they forget about it. They just jump to the next product. Because this is the reason why they actually visit…
